Nigerian Women Writers on wikiquote Kwasu is focused at bridging content gap on Nigerian women on wikiquote and also the campaign is also aimed to introduce wikiquote to the Kwasu community. The project aim to recruit more and new contributors to the wikimedia movement and the Kwasu community.

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

We will be organizing two physical training, one virtual and edit a thon contest

Physical training one: This training is majorly focused to introduce participants of the Kwasu fan club to wikiquote and how to contribute to wikiquote. The campaign is aimed at bridging gender gaps on wikiquote about Nigeria women writers. We hope to use this training to promote women writers quotes on wikiquote.

Physical training two: This training is focused at a visit to the kwara state University library. The library tour is to get the participants familiar with books from the library written by Nigeria women this will help contribute and understand the main target of the campaign.

Virtual training: The virtual training comes after a week of the edit a thon contest. This is to ask participants about their experience and challenges while contributing on wikiquote as new contributors. Additional training will also be done to keep them on track as the continue to contribute to wikiquote

Edit a thon contest: The contest will start after the first day of training, the edit a thon is aimed at allowing the participants to contribute to wikiquote that they have learnt and prizes will be awarded to top contributors.

Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We will be using the social media platform to pass information across to them especially via the community WhatsApp and social media channels. This will allow us get closer to them. The social media platforms we will be using includes Facebook WhatsApp instagram twitter etc This is to foster effective communication and engagement with the participants.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

The participants have internet connectable devices that will help them contribute to the campaign goal by creating and improving articles on wikiquote.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

We aim to engage them by sharing the information about other campaigns on wikiquote.

Use the WhatsApp platform to reach out to them to know if they still contribute to wikiquote and if not encourage them to contribute.


7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Nigerian Women Writers on wikiquote is mainly aimed to bridge gender gap and also introduce the Kwasu fan club to wikiquote and how to create and improve wikiquote articles with major focus on Nigerian women writers.

  3. Number of new editors - 15
  4. Number of of articles created - 20
  5. Number of of articles improved - 80
  6. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events) - 20

We will be tracking the metrics using outreach dashboard and xtool.

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

User:Jessephu project lead: I am an experienced Wikiquote contributor and trainer. With over 7000 edits on wikimedia projects. I will be training the participants on how to contribute to wikiquote articles and improve them.

User:Fawazadebayo2023 president Kwasu fan club: The president will help in organizing and communicating with the other executives to see to the smooth running of the trainings and edit a thon.
